Shoppers and retailers welcomed the new loyalty card scheme launched in Nailsea and Backwell today.
More than 50 shoppers signed up for the discount card within the first hour of them being handed out. The discount cards are free and enable locals to receive discounts and special offers from retailers who have signed up to the scheme.
It is being sponsored locally by the Nailsea branch of SpecSavers and already more than 20 local businesses have agreed to take part, with more expected in the coming weeks. Full details of participating stores and discounts are at www.my-loyalty-card.com/nailsea.
The first shopper to sign up for the new card was Mrs Patricia Clarke of Westway, Nailsea, who said: “I think it is a really good idea. Anything that saves money in this day and age is to be welcomed, as is anything that supports local businesses. Hopefully we will get more independent traders attracted to the town.”
James Lucas, manager of Crown Glass Shopping Centre, said: “A recent independent report showed that Nailsea has much to offer shoppers, with its free parking, safe and pleasant shopping environment and a good choice of shops.
“This loyalty card scheme will provide an excellent further incentive for people to come and discover just how much we have to offer.”
The loyalty card scheme is free to join for all local businesses. The scheme is not restricted to retailers, and tradesmen and those offering professional services are welcome to join. For more information contact [email protected]
