Many events have already been staged in this year of celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II with many more still to come including in Nailsea church services, picnics, walks, sport events, art and retro exhibitions and street parties, with one of the highlights being the lighting of a beacon at Holy Trinity church on Monday, June 4.

Nailsea Town Council is coordinating the jubilee programme supported by local churches, schools, organisations, shops and pubs and its timetable of events includes those outside the bank holiday weekend with a jubilee theme is availabe from the council offices, library and other points throughout the town.

 Many of the shops have also gone red, white and blue and the Dogs Palace the grooming spa at the High Street isselling little Union Jack doggie bandanas and Union Jack pup cakes; The Blue Room has stocked up on bunting and have a limited editions of the winning jubilee art competition entries on sale.
